GOUCHER (STEVENS) Janet Audrey, 74 of Aylesford East, NS It is with great sadness the family of Janet Goucher announces her peaceful passing on Sunday, March 20, 2011 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, NS. Born in North Kingston, NS on July 17, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Robert L. and Florence Eva (Dorey) Stevens formerly of Kingston. Janet was the loving wife of 55 years to Chester W. Goucher, beloved mother of Christopher R. (Christine) Goucher and adored Grammy of Albany Frances Goucher, Coldbrook, NS. Also surviving is her sister, Joan (Ralph) Smith, Morden; aunts, Phyllis Clem and Hilda MacGee and nieces and nephews. Janet grew up in Morden, NS and after finishing high school she was a graduate from Mack Business College in 1954 with a diploma in bookkeeping. Janet worked in the offices of M.W. Graves; Berwick Fruit Co.; Enserinks Nurseries; Stevens Bros. and finally Can Farms retiring in 1991. Janet loved gardening and knitting. She enjoyed her many friends, playing cards, camping with her family, especially attending the many Bluegrass and Country Music Festivals over the years. No visitation by family request. Funeral services will be held 2:00PM, Friday, March 25, 2011 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, (902) 825-3448 with Rev. Brenda Nesbitt officiating . Interment will be held in the Aylesford United Church Cemetery. Refreshments will be served in the Aylesford United Church following the service. Donations in Janets memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or to a Charity of ones choice. The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nursing staff at the Valley Regional Hospital for the kindness and care they provided Janet.
