ACKER, Jean Marie, age 80 went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 25, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Russell and Sadie (Corkum) Cropley of Wilmot, Nova Scotia. Jean was born on January 29, 1936 in Liverpool, Queens County and moved to Wilmot in Annapolis County on June 2, 1950. It was here that she met the love of her life, Basil Acker and they were later married. Jean was a stay-at-home mom who lived out her dream of being a loving mother to her own children as well as many foster children. She was involved in many community activities including Girl Guides, Scouts, Sunday School and Church. She enjoyed reading, sewing, hooking, knitting and egging with her best friend Mary. Many mornings were spent gathered around her kitchen table sharing coffee and stories with her many friends. Jean is survived by her loving husband Basil, sons Scott (Tammy) in Calgary, Randall (Robert) in Halifax, Ross of Middleton, Joel (Cassandra) in Wilmot and daughters Kelly (Stewart) of Wilmot, Tracey (Michael) of Paradise Hill. Also ten grand-children Logan and Dustin, Zacc and Tea, Lindsay and Spencer, Hannah and Laura, Madison and Rylan and her special great-grandchildren Tristin, Haylee, Tegan and Hayden. She is also survived by her brother James of Wilmot, and sister-in-law Phyllis Gard of Springdale. She will be lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews Rod and David Gard, Vicki Cropley, David, Russell, Matthew and Crystal Cropley. She was predeceased by parents, brother, Ross, sister, Frances and also her loving in-laws Lloyd and Annie Acker. Jean and Annie spent many hours together enjoying life. Jean has been cremated. Visitation will be at the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street (902) 825-3448 on Wednesday June 1, 2016 from 7 to 9 pm. Memorial service to be held at the Kingston United Church on June 2, 2016 at 11:00 am. Reverend Michael Mugford officiating. Interment in North Kingston Cemetery. Family Flowers only.
