BAAK, Jean Charlotte (Buchan) - October 17th, 1940 – May 26th, 2017. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother, Grandmother, Sweet Sister and Aunt, Jean Baak on May 26, 2017 at the age of 76. Jean was predeceased by her parents, John Buchan – Glasgow, Scotland, and Sarah Charlotte Buchan (Hodgson) – Yorkshire, England, her loving husband Hans (Hank) Baak and sister Annie. Jean is lovingly remembered by her children Leonard (Jayne) – Ottawa ON, Tony (Julie) – Meadowvale NS, and Peter (Fiorella) – Ottawa ON. She will be sadly missed by her sister Elizabeth, Brothers Charles and John (Marie), all her Grand Children, along with three generations of Nieces and Nephews scattered throughout Nova Scotia, Montreal, Ottawa and Vancouver. Jean was an active, cheerful person who touched many with her unequalled zest for life and family.  Her passion was Hank and her three boys; with room to volunteer for the Church, Hospital, Lions Club and the Companion Animal Protection Society.   Making friends for life along the way, she demonstrated what true love, compassion and understanding really are.  We are all better people because of it. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory to the Companion Animal Protection Society (CAPS) – Margaretsville (Her Happy Place), the Kingston Lions Club (A Passion) or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada. By request, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 3rd from the Kingston United Church, Kingston NS with Rev. Gayle MacDonald officiating. A reception will follow at the Kingston Lions Club at 3:30 p.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., 902 825-3448.
