Clarke, Jean Irene (Holden), age 94 passed away on June 25, 2025 in the Annapolis Royal Nursing Home, Annapolis Royal, NS. She was the youngest daughter of the late Simon and Blanche (Pierce) Holden of Jordan Falls. Jean was an avid bingo player and enjoyed playing euchre as well. She was an animal lover, especially dogs.  She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Kingston, Branch No. 98 where she volunteered with bingo for nine years.  Jean was a member of 107 Air Force Association in Greenwood and a member of the Federal Superannuate National Association where she was on the telephone committee. Prior to starting her family, Jean taught school for several years in Shelburne Co., two of which were at Shelburne Academy. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Ralph in 2008; sisters Marion Burns, Hazel Ritchie; brothers Earle, Frank, and Harold Holden. She will be sadly missed by family and friends, especially her youngest son, Brian. Jean is survived by five children, daughter, Patricia (Rod Bergen), Edmonton, AB; sons, Ken (Shirley Parker) Clarke, New Minas; Jimmie (Shirley) Clarke, Edmonton; Frank Clarke, Edmonton; and Brian Clarke, Kingston, NS; grandchildren, Ryan (Chantelle) Pelley, Edmonton; Dustin (Megan) Clarke, Edmonton; great granddaughters, Melody and Azlynn Pelley, Edmonton; Stella and Margot Clarke, Edmonton; numerous nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation in keeping with Jean's wishes. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 25, 2025 in the Royal Canadian Legion, Kingston, Branch No. 98, with a reception to follow. Interment will be in Lake John Cemetery, Jordan Falls, NS where a private graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 26, 2025. Family flowers only.
