Obituary

HUNTLEY, Jean Frances ~ Age 86, of Windermere Road, South Berwick, Kings Co., passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2023, in the Valley Hospice, Kentville. Born in Lakeville, Kings Co., on August 4, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Lloyd and Lois (Brown) Lewis. Growing up, Jean attended Weston School, and later graduated from Central Kings High School. Jean began her working career at the Royal Bank in Berwick. She left the bank after starting her family, in which she decided to stay home to raise her children. Once they had grown up, Jean decided to return to school and received training to become an LPN, graduating in 1992. She then went to work in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton, working mainly in the Veterans Unit, until she retired. She loved spending time with her family. Jean was involved with the 4H while she was growing up. Jean was a member of the Weston Woman's Institute; Berwick Baptist Church; The Ladies Auxillary – The MacPherson Group; The Gardening Club. She enjoyed gardening, knitting and Rug Hooking. She and Cyril were together for 68 years and married for 67 years. Surviving are her husband, Cyril Reginald; son, Cyril Reginald "Reg" (Joyce), Kingston; daughters, Susan Huntley, Victoria, BC; Nancy Kelly, Canaan, Kings Co.; Mary Ellen Huntley, Fredericton, NB; sister, Betty Ann Sparks, Fredericton, NB; brothers, David Lewis, Aylesford, NS; Michael Lewis, Donallan Brook, NS    six grandchildren, Melissa, Jennifer, Thomas, Amy, Lauren, Olivia; five great grandchildren, Cameron, Morgan, Drew, Jordyn, Edie. She was predeceased by a brother Purdy Austin "Mannie" Lewis. A Celebration of Life service will be 2-4pm Monday June 19 in the Berwick Baptist Church - Chipman Annex. A private interment will take place in Berwick Cemetery. Family flowers only.
