Obituary

IRVINE, Jean Marie ~ age 94, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2022, in Evergreen Home For Special Care, Kentville. Jean was born in Waterville, Kings Co., on April 28, 1927. She was predeceased by parents, Frederick William Pazant and Elsie Tupper (Murphy) Irvine; aunt, Frena Marie Irvine; sister, Doris Helen Irvine; brothers, Ronald Dean and Bernard Kenneth; and nephew, Gregory Lewis Irvine. Jean is survived by her brother, Lewis Burton Irvine; sister-in-law, Lillian Joyce (Chute) Irvine; and sister-in-law, Shirley Marie (Chute) Irvine. Jean was a graduate of Mack Business College, Kentville. She worked in the office of the Minas Basin Pulp and Paper in Hantsport. She was a devoted member of the Hantsport Baptist Church. Jean had a passion for planting and caring for flowers. She regularly traveled home on the weekends from Hantsport to the family farm in Grafton. Jean loved playing the piano, collecting albums and listening to music. She enjoyed some long-distance travel with friends and many short travels within the Maritime provinces with family. Jean was hugely proud of her younger brothers, Bernie and Lew. She had fond memories of helping to care for them as little boys. It gave her great joy as her nieces and nephews joined the family. Jean is survived by nephews, Randy Irvine, Brian Irvine; nieces, Wanda (Irvine) McGillivray; Brenda (Irvine) Simpson; and Sheila (Irvine) Veinotte. Jean loved that the family grew with her great nieces and great nephews, Jason and Bradley Irvine; Joseph, Mitchell McGillivray; and Kassey (McGillivray) Peters; Andrew, David and Caroline Simpson; Lee and Jeffrey Veinotte. She was thrilled knowing that the family has extended to her eight little great great nieces and great great nephews, Mya and Kyla; Juni and Junior; Ansel and Alfred; Lillian and Aurora. A private graveside service took place at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 7, in Berwick Cemetery, with Pastor Andrew Conrad officiating. Donations in her memory may be made to Canadian Red Cross.
