LeBLANC, Jean Paul 80, Middleton, NS passed away peacefully Saturday, June 25, 2011 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Moncton, NB in 1930, he was the son of the late Eugene and Amanda (Gallant) LeBlanc. Paul was educated in Moncton and attended Sacred Heart University in Bathurst, NB. He served in the RCAF from 1954 to 1970. He moved to Middleton in 1976 and was employed with Thompsons Transfer Co Ltd. as director of safety and personnel until his retirement in 1995. Paul was a founding member of the Atlantic Provinces Trucking Association Safety Council and served as president from 1981 to 1983. A past member of the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering, and of the Association for Canadian Registered Safety Professionals. Paul was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 98 Kingston N.S. and was a past member of the Middleton Curling Club, Eden Golf and Country Club, Greenwood Golf Club and Paragon Golf and Country Club. He is survived by his wife Dorothy (Bond) LeBlanc; Daughter Simonne LeBlanc, British Columbia and Step daughter Joanne Bond, Halifax; Step son Thomas (Maxine) Bond, Lower Sackville; Granddaughters Sierra and Cezanne LeBlanc, BC; Step granddaughter Jennifer and Step grandson Philip also Great grandson Justin. Levy. He is also survived by nieces Bernice (Leo Paul) Bourque; Therese (Bernard) Babineau, Mai (Guy) LeBlanc, Francine (Leo) Basterache and nephew Francis (Ella) Gallant, all from New Brunswick. Besides his mother and father he was predeceased by his first wife Marian, second wife Betty, brothers Leo, Edgar, George and sister Pauline. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. By Pauls request, cremation has taken place. Funeral mass will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at Saint Monica's Roman Catholic Church, Middleton, NS. Father Gerald Saulnier officiating assisted by Rev. Deacon Don Boudreau. Burial at a later date in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Chartersville, NB. Donations in Pauls memory may be made to Canadian Cancer Society (Nova Scotia Branch), Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, Palliative Care Unit - Soldiers Memorial Hospital or charity of choice.
