In Loving Memory of Jennifer Lynne Balcome

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jennifer Lynne Balcome, age 46, of Spa Springs, Nova Scotia. Jennifer passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Valley Hospice in Kentville.

Jennifer will be remembered for her radiant smile, beautiful soul, and the strength and courage with which she lived her life. A private and thoughtful person, Jennifer was a creative, brave, and fiercely independent woman with a heart full of love. She had an extraordinary spirit and was a true warrior. Above all, she loved being a loving mother, devoted wife and a caring dog mom. Her family—both two-legged and four—meant everything to her.

Jennifer had worked with TRA Atlantic in the accounting department and later received her Continuing Care Assistant diploma and was employed with Grand View Manor, Berwick and lastly with Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton.

She cherished spending time with her family and especially treasured family day excursions, beach outings with her beloved daughter, and quiet shore visits in search of sea glass with Stella and Tim. Jennifer found joy in the simple things — sharing a coffee, being outdoors, sunflowers in bloom, or time with those she loved most.

She loved aquacise classes, relaxing moments with Stella, and found deep peace and happiness surrounded by nature. Her loving heart touched all who knew her, and her memory will live on in those whose lives she so deeply impacted.

Along with her parents, Terrance and Joan, Jennifer is survived by her soul mate of 31 years, Tim Cole and the light of her life, daughter, Stella; sister, Jillian (Mark) Kinsman, Nictaux; nephew, Logan (Chesley); niece, Amy (Caleb); maternal grandmother, Marie Phinney, Nictaux; mother-in-law, Elizabeth Nagy (Brad); sisters-in-law, Michelle (Craig), Dawn, Eilidh; brother-in-law, Dave (Karen); and her special friend, Carolyn; aunts and uncles: Tami Phinney (Erwin), Cindy Phinney (Mike), Sharon Slauenwhite, Doreen St Onge (Tom), Eric Balcome (Susan), Blair Balcome (Connie), Norm Balcome (Sandy), Heather Steadman (David); great aunts Audrey Connell, Dorothy Bruce; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Jack Phinney and paternal grandparents, Norman and Marilyn Balcome; and father-in-law, John Cole.

In keeping with Jennifer's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private family graveside service will be held at a later date in Pine Grove Cemetery, Middleton. The family would like to thank Palliative Care and the Valley Hospice team for their compassion and support.

Donations in Jennifer's memory may be made to the Valley Hospice Foundation, Kentville. Online condolences or memories you may wish to share with the family may be made by visiting: www.middletonfuneralhome.com
