GILES, Jessie Cowan - 87 of Middleton and formerly of Kingston, passed away peacefully in the Heart of The Valley Long Term Care Facility, Middleton on Saturday, March 1, 2014. Born in Ayr, Scotland, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Mary (McCurdy) Jamieson. Jessie was very proud of being a Scot. She was also proud of being a War Bride coming to Canada in 1946. Jessie was very involved in her community and was a member of All Saints Anglican Church, Order of the Eastern Star, Rebekah Lodge, Royal Canadian Legion #98, Canadian Red Cross Society, War Brides Association and many others. Jessie is survived by sons, Richard (Shirley) Giles, Aylesford and Ian (Karen) Giles, Kingston, NS; sister, Mary Russell, Ayr, Scotland and brother, Hugh Jamieson, Scotland; daughter-in-law, Linda Giles, Tremont; son-in-law, Jude Lepage, Orleans, Ontario; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband John, son Eric daughter, Donna Lepage sisters, Elizabeth Hallahan, Alice Porter, brothers, Walter and James. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448. The funeral service will be held 2:00PM Thursday, March 6, 2014 in All Saints Anglican Church, Kingston with Rev. Matthew Sponagle officiating. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Anglican Cemetery Middleton with a reception to follow in the Holy Trinity Anglican Church. Donations in memory may be made to Charity of Choice.
