O'Quinn, Jessie Mae ~ of Meadowvale, Annapolis Co., N.S. It is with heavy hearts, that we the family announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Mae O'Quinn on Thursday, December 28, 2023, in Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton, after a short battle with cancer. Born in Sydney Mines, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Evelyn (Gardiner) MacMullin.

Mom spent over 30 years employed with National Sea Products. Following her retirement, she loved her favourite pastimes of early morning blue berry picking and time spent with her granddaughter, Ashley, who was her pride and joy. Mom enjoyed playing a good game of darts at her friend Buddy's or having a visit with her dear friend, Audrey Waye. She also enjoyed spending every Saturday with her sisters, Lorraine and Kay, and her niece, Norma tying one on.

She is surviving by her only daughter, Geraldine; her granddaughters, Ashley, Brittany (Kevin); her grandson, Christopher (Candace); her great grandchildren, Brayon, Finley, Charleigh, Presley, Brayden, Issac, Lincoln and Liliana; her sisters, Delores (Barry), Theresa, Kaye, Ann Marie and Lorraine (a special sister, who was there for her no matter what); her brothers, John "Stemmer" (Barbara), Andrew (Helen), Brian (Brenda), Allan "Popeye"; sister-in-law, Lily; many nieces and nephews, who she would talk about often.

Besides her parents, Daniel and Evelyn, she was predeceased by her sister, Rachael; her brothers, Alex, George, Daniel, Gerald and Kenneth; sisters-in-law, Eva, Beatrice and Marg; brothers-in-law, Vincent Bonnar; Vincent Jessome; Eric Walters; and Wayne King.

Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of her life will take place in Cape Breton, at a later date. Donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, or to her family to assist in her final arrangements.

Her family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. McKeough, other doctors and nursing staff at Valley Regional Hospital Medical B as well as the Palliative Care unit at Soldiers' Memorial Hospital.
