Greene, Jill Louise (1968 - 2020) It is with great sadness that the family of Jill Louise Greene announce her passing at her home in Wellington, Nova Scotia on May 12, 2020 after a hard fought battle with cancer. Born in Saint John General Hospital August 29, 1968 to loving parents Esther and the late Burton McKnight. Her early childhood was spent in Saint John and Riverview, New Brunswick. The family moved to Auburn, Nova Scotia where she spent her teen years. She graduated from West Kings District High School and attended Dalhousie University. She began her 17 year working career at Walker's Wharf in 1988 which became part of the Fishermen's Market group of companies in1993. She became a stay-at-home mom in 2006 where she was very involved with her children's activities, and was a favourite volunteer at their schools. Jill enjoyed life - especially family gatherings, camping, the Greene's annual stay at White Point Beach, walking the beach with her children collecting shells and rocks which they later turned into crafts. Her hobbies included restoring antique furniture, cooking, crafts, gardening and walking her dogs. Survived by her husband Graham and much loved children Fallon (13), Ashton (11), and step-son Logan (Toronto). Her loving mother Esther McKnight, brother Jeffery, sister-in-law Ellen and nieces Sarah and Brooke. Also several aunts, uncles and cousins. Father-in-law Fred, mother-in-law Edith Greene Halifax, sister-in-laws Darlene (son Julian), Elaine, Julia, Viki (Gary) and family Middleton, Janice (Tom) and family Cobourg, Ontario. Jill was a people person and will be missed by many for her beautiful smile, quick wit and caring and compassionate heart. Her pain is gone and now may she rest in peace with her Dad. Under her wishes cremation has taken place. Arrangements under J.A. Snow's Funeral Home, Halifax with a celebration of her life to be announced at a later date in Auburn, Nova Scotia. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. A Celebration of Life will be held 1:00pm Saturday, November 7, 2020 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St. Middleton toll free 1-855-825-3448 where Covid-19 provincial gathering restrictions only allow attendance for a maximum of 75 family and friends. In keeping with health safety protocols, face masks and social distancing must be followed. Rev. Mel Malton officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Auburn. For those unable to attend in person, a live webcast of the service will be available for viewing on the funeral home website at 12:55 p.m. AST by selecting the "Live Stream" option at the top of the home page.
