BARKHOUSE, Joan Lysil ~ age 69 of Nictaux, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 surrounded by her family. Born in Torbrook, she was a daughter and the late Cecil Ray and Florence Gertrude (Prime) Veinot. Joan worked as a CNA at Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown and Soldiers' Memorial Hospital in Middleton, She also did house cleaning. Joan enjoyed camping and fishing. She will be sadly missed by her son Michael, Nictaux; sisters Sandra (Phil); Rose Bezanson, Kingston; Debbie (John) Foster, Mt. Hanley; Velvet Veinot, Nictaux; brothers, Aubrey (Margaret) Prime, Winnipeg, Manitoba; Cecil Ray Jr. (Linda), Torbrook; Rodney (Barbara), Torbrook; Carroll (the late Sharon), East Torbrook; Washington, Torbrook; Clinton, Torbrook; Archibald (Laurie) Edmonton, AB. Besides her parents, Joan was predeceased by her husband Milton Barkhouse; sister Grace in infancy and brothers Beverly and Robert. In keeping with Joan's wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, August 6, 2018 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448 with Rev. Danny Smith officiating.
