Currie, Joan Mary – age 64 of New Minas, Kings Co., formerly of Nictaux, passed away Friday, March 31, 2017 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville.  Born in Churchill, Manitoba; she was the only daughter of the late Alexander and Doris (Lutz) Nemeth. She was an active member and past secretary of the Middleton & District Lions Club.  She is survived by her husband Mel, of 42 years; daughter, Leyla Caldwell (Allan), Lawrencetown; son, Duane, New Minas; four brothers, Carl, Gordon, Bruce, Ron (Deborah); grandchildren,  Shane Swinamer, Lower Sackville; Megan, Scott Ramsay, Shelby Caldwell all of Lawrencetown. Cremation has taken place. There will be a gathering for family and friends, Thursday, April 20, 6 pm., in Middleton Funeral Home. Pastor Brandon Lake officiating. Donations in Joan's memory can be made to Camp Lion Maxwell or Camp Brigadoon.
