FEATHERSTONE (Doherty), Joan M.- p assed away suddenly at home in Nictaux Falls on Monday, December 4, 2017. Born in Tufts Cove on September 30, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Dennis and Mary (Emberly) Doherty. She is survived by her daughters, Rosemary (Greg) Lockyer, Dartmouth; Joanne (Thane) Clarke, Prince Edward Island; and her son, Bobby Featherstone, Nictaux Falls. She is also survived by her sisters, Frances (Gerald) Arnold, Windsor Junction; Denise (Eric) Patrick, Lake Country, B.C.; by her brother, Joseph (Hilda) Doherty, Beaver Bank; as well as four grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Dennis Jr. "Papa Denny" (late Jeanette Chastonay). Joan was involved with figure skating as a judge, and for many years was the owner of Guzzie's Book Exchange in Kingston, a job she loved. The family would like to extend special thanks to the VON for their dedication to Joan's care. Cremation has taken place. A private family interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Victorian Order of Nurses in Joan's memory would be appreciated by the family.
