ZINCK, Joan Ann
– age 69 of Lakeville, formerly of Cambridge, Kings Co., passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2016, in Halifax Infirmary, QE II, Halifax. Born in Pleasant River on September 12, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Lynville and Lydia (Smith) Herman. Joan was devoted to her family, friends and loved her many cats and dogs over the years. She read her bible faithfully everyday. Joan enjoyed going to flea markets, where she was well known for selling jams, jellies, fudge and other home cooking. She worked at various jobs and most recently as a caregiver, looking after elderly people in their homes. Joan is survived by her companion, Bill Kynox, Lucasville; children, Derrick (Tamie) Zinck, Canaan; Sharon (Steven Pelton) Hamilton, New Minas; Robbie (Kim) Zinck, Black River; Mitchell (Tasha) Zinck, Cambridge; grandchildren, C.J., Levi, Zoe, Alisha, Kimberly, Krissy, Stefanie, Bradley, Austin, Don, Lydia, Kara, Kate, Kierra and Morgan; five great-grandchildren; sister, Linda (Gert) Kirchner, Barss Corner; brother, Bryden Herman, Liverpool; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Mary Ellen in infancy, Margurite Smith, Elsie Taul and Lillian Keddy; brothers, George, Basil and Royden Herman. There will be no visitation. Memorial service will take place 4 p.m., Sunday, August 21, in Cambridge United Baptist Church, 5981 Hwy No. 1, Cambridge. Rev. Darryl Dykens officiating, interment in Cambridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Kings Co. S.P.C.A. or to Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
