Obituary

REID, John Daniel MacLean "Johnny`"- age 77, of Cambridge, Kings Co., passed away suddenly on Saturday, January 27, 2018, in Waterville. Born in Fisherman's Harbour, Guysborough Co., he was a son of the late Henry and Janet (Rood) Reid. Johnny had been employed at Mountain View Home and Kings Regional Rehabilitation Centre, Waterville, Palmeters Country Home, Kentville and the Nova Scotia Hospital, Dartmouth, with 25 years of combined years of service. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Johnny enjoyed the outdoors and time spent in the garden and was well known for growing and selling strawberries. He was devoted to his family and friends and will be missed by all who knew him. Surviving are sons, David Reid, Waterville; Kevin (Christa) Reid, Aylesford; Jeffery (Valerie) Reid, Waterville; former wife and friend, Rosie Reid, Waterville; grandchildren, Jordan, Liam, Jake, Chase, Travis, Miranda and Tyler; sister, Marion (Ed) Dorey, Cambridge; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a grandson, Tyson Reid; brother, Albert Rood; sister, Minnie Reid; three siblings in infancy. There will be no visitation. Memorial service will take place at 3 p.m., Thursday, February 1, in Waterville Baptist Church, 1243 Mill St., Waterville. Pastor Christina Bigelow officiating, with interment in Berwick Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations in his memory may be made to Kings Co. S.P.C.A, Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, Pastor Tim`s Relay for Life or to a favourite charity of choice.
