Obituary

DOUCET, John Henry-78 of Melvern Square passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Lower Wedgeport, he was a son of the late Jerome and Cecile (Boutin) Doucet. John retired as a Lt. Col. after 33 years in the Canadian Forces, with his final posting at 14 Wing Greenwood as Base Administration Officer. He served on various boards as a volunteer. He particularly enjoyed his time at the family cottage at Zwickers Lake. He is survived by his wife, the former Kathleen Arac; daughters, Anne Doucet (Pat Cottreau), Prince Albert, NS; Jeanine Doucet (Harvey Wolfe), Halifax; Aline Doucet (Jody Bailey), Lawrencetown, NS; Carola (Todd) Baker, Lower Sackville, NS and Patty (Shaun) Saunders, Bridgetown, NS; brothers, Ulysse (Marie) Doucet, Spokane, Washington and Roland (Madeleine) Doucet, Lower Wedgeport, NS; grandchildren; Matthew, Ryan, Jaime, Jonathan, René, Jenica and Noah. Visitation will be held 7:00 -9:00PM, Friday, June 21, 2013 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street (902) 825-3448. Memorial Mass will be held 2:00PM, Monday, June 24, 2013 in Queen of Heaven Chapel, 14 Wing Greenwood, with Father Jim McKay officiating.
