Horton, John Richard ~ aged 74 of Bridgetown
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Horton of Bridgetown, Annapolis County on May 23, 2024, at the Annapolis Community Health Centre, after a brief illness.
John was born on September 4, 1949, in Middleton NS to the late Charles Horton and Esther (Taylor) Horton.
He worked many years for CP rail as a track maintenance foreman until his retirement.
John was an avid hunter, fisherman and all-around outdoorsman. He enjoyed spending time with his family particularly his grandkids and great granddaughter who were his pride and joy.
Besides his parents, John was predeceased by his sister, Juliette, in infancy; brother, Paul; and son, John, in infancy.
John is survived by his wife of 53 years Sherry; sister Paulette (David) Adler, Upper Granville; brother, Lee, Upper Granville; daughter, Juliette (Kirk), Bridgetown; grandkids, Gregory (Sarah), Lawrencetown; Justin (Chelsea), Kentville; Sarah, Bridgetown; and great granddaughter, Charlotte.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no funeral service by request.
Donations in John's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Nova Scotia.
