It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of John Hepburn McKenzie, who left us peacefully on Friday, October 10, 2025, at the age of 87.

Born on April 27, 1938, in Fraserburgh, Scotland, John brought warmth, humour, and kindness to everyone who knew him. Family and friends affectionately knew him as Johnny "Walker" or Johnny "Crash" — a nod to his less-than-perfect driving skills and his ever-present good humour about it.

John was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather, whose generosity of spirit and steadfast love will be deeply missed. He is survived by his beloved wife Jessie McKenzie, sons Kevin and John, daughter-in-law Kim, and cherished granddaughters Shae and Brinn.

For the past eight years, John made his home at Heart of the Valley, where he was surrounded by compassion and care. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff for their kindness, empathy and comfort they provided John throughout his time there.
