Obituary

NEILY, John Lockhart - age 94 of Middleton, NS passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 in the Veterans Unit at Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Middleton, he was a son of the late Carmen and Bessie (Lockhart) Neily. John was a retired school teacher and taught Industrial Arts at Mcdonald Consolidated School, Middleton Regional High School and at Dwight Ross School. He was a proud member of the Middleton Legion, life member for 73 years, making him the oldest awarded member in Nova Scotia. In his retirement years he enjoyed woodworking, hunting and fishing, and camping, especially at Keji. John is survived by his wife the former Frances Wilkins; daughters, Diann (David) Currie, Cornwall, PEI and Terry Neily, Brooklyn, NS; son, J. Scott Neily, Middleton; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Besides his parents, John was predeceased by sister Betty (Alice Elizabeth) Bowlby and brother Ernest. In keeping with John's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service at this time. Donations in memory may be made to a charity of choice.
