POWER, John Joseph – age 86 of Bridgetown, NS passed away surrounded by his family in Tupperville, NS on Monday, July 3, 2017 . Born in Newfoundland, he was a son of the late John and Bridget (Power) Power. John worked with fisheries and in construction. He was a sports fan of baseball and hockey. He enjoyed the outdoors, playing cards, washers, darts and bingo. His favourite activity was scratching tickets. John will be sadly missed by his children Rita (Jim), Beaverbank, NS; Dolores (Chris), Windsor, NS; Violet( Rick), Blaketown, NL; Jackie (Gord), Bellevue, NL; Joan (Alan), Canaan, NS; Lisa (Tim), Centreville, NS; Terry (Jennifer), Bridgetown; Cora (Danny), Athens, ON; his siblings Tom, Adrian, Susanna, Madeline and Betty;19 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. Besides his parents, John was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth (Griffin) Power; sister Mary and brothers Kevin and Edward. In keeping with John's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a visitation from 2:00-3:00 PM on Friday July 7th, in the Middleton Funeral, 398 Main St., toll free 1-855-825-3448.  At 3:00 PM a time of sharing stories and memories of John will begin and all are welcome to participate. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Chapel Arm, NL at a later date, where John will be laid to rest next to his wife, Elizabeth. Donations in memory may be made to the VON –Annapolis Valley Branch or the Canadian Red Cross.
