DEVEAU, John Raymond - age 92 of Wilmot, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2017 in Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Yarmouth, he was the son of the late Edward George and Catherine Marie (Saulnier) Deveau and is the last surviving member of his immediate family. John was in the Canadian Armed Forces for 25 years, having served overseas for four years. He then worked at CFB Greenwood for 13 years before retiring. John was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He took great pride in being a member of the Bridgetown Fiddlers for 20 plus years. Surviving are daughter Gaila (Wayne) Friars of Lower Cambridge, NB, Sherry-ann (Wayne) Riger of Tremont, NS, Lorraine (Gordon) Arsenault of Wilmot ; sons Mike (Barbra) Deveau of Yarmouth and Jerry (Brenda) Deveau of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Jason, Darcy Lance, Michael, Stephen, Kylie, Jessica, Christopher, Dana-John, Matthew and Adam; 10 great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Evangeline (Doucette) Deveau; sisters Rita and Ceal; brothers Wilford, Eric and Thomas. A visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, January 20, 2017 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St. 902-825-3448 from where a funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, January 21, 2017 with Rev. Deacon Don Boudreau officiating. A reception will follow the service. Private family interment will be in St. Monica's Cemetery, Middleton.
