Obituary

CROWE, John "Jack" Royce ~ 82 of Nictaux, NS passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2018 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Wolfville, October 24, 1936, he was a son of the late Allen and Blanche (Geddes) Crowe. Jack retired after 30 years of service with the Royal Canadian Navy from 1956-1986, he served on the HMCS, Bonaventure, Protecteur and Preserver. Jack was stationed in Downsview, ON, Shearwater, NS and Greenwood, NS. He later was employed as a Commissionaire for 10 years at Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. In his younger years, Jack was an avid sportsman, having played hockey, fastball and curling and later he coached hockey and baseball. He enjoyed his monthly get together for over 25 years with his Class of 1956 from Wolfville High school, who always met at Joes Food Emporium. Jack was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sylvia (nee Rhuland), Nictaux; son, Talbot (Krista),Fredericton, NB, Tim (Wynne) Crowe, Kingston; daughter Tanya (Jeffery) Norman, Middleton; grandchildren; Laura, Adam, Michael, David, Jacob, Megan, Matthew, Tyler, Carson, Morgan, Mackayla; great grandchildren Maryn and Desmond and numerous nieces and nephews, sister in law, Ardeen Crowe, Springhill, NS. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters Greta, Doris, Elva, Lulu, Edith and a sister in infancy; brothers, Clarence "Birdy", Edward and Roderick "Roddy". Visitation will be held 2-4PM and 6- 8 PM Friday, December 28, 2018 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448. Funeral service will be held 2:00PM Saturday, December 29, 2018 in the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Middleton with Rev. Paul Jennings and Rev. Lynn Uzans officiating. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Middleton. A reception for family & friends will follow in the church hall.
