Obituary

FARLEY, John "Jack" Stewart ~ Age 77 passed away peacefully after his battle with cancer, Friday, October 23, 2020 in Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Victoria, BC he was a son of the late John and Marion (Wells) Farley. Jack's family always meant the world to him. He would bend over backward to make sure they got everything from education to the sport of their choice and make sure they got to every basketball practice and football practice, sports event during their childhood years. Jack was an avid sportsman and businessman all this life and got involved with Kinsman, local legions, and Rotary. He coached baseball, was a director in the Kamloops Blazers, and a huge fan of the Saskatchewan Rough Riders. He spent most of his career with Petro Canada by starting out in Thompson, Manitoba and lived in many parts of western Canada with his management job in forestry for over 34 years. Jack had a love for the great outdoors and loved fishing, big game hunting, and bird hunting with his Labradors. He loved life at our cabin in Northern British Columbia. He found the good in people and pretty much got along with everyone that had crossed his path. He was a constant salesman and motivator. He would get up and make a speech, loved public speaking to a crowd of people. Despite being a redhead and freckled skinned, he still loved the sun and enjoyed the many trips we had to Mexico in the winter. Over 25 years of marriage, we had many homes with the last 10 years at our wonderful property outside of Middleton with our dogs. If you knew Jack, you would know he loved telling stories and great laughs around a glass of wine, a cold beer or even a great campfire. He loved his dogs and boy did we have enough of them, in total, we have had 15 dogs in 25 years. Everyone was loved and they loved us even more back. We did showmanship, hunt trials, and obedience with them. We arrived in Middleton with 8 of our Labradors and my horse Arnold. Our plan was that Jack would semi-retire and I get myself a new career in Real Estate which was a perfect fit for my personality and I love it. Jack's melanoma started back in the early 2000's and he had his biggest spot in March 2015 which was surgically removed in Bridgewater Hospital. They told us that he could expect 5 years of good health if it didn't spread into his blood system. Unfortunately, this did not happen and now the suffering is over for Jack, but I will continue to feel the loss of this GREAT MAN forever. I love you, I miss you, and I will NEVER forget you! Jack Farley died from terminal melanoma cancer on October 23 rd , 2020. Jack will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Lorie Campbell – Farley; Jack's daughter, Nicole(Howard) Robinson, White Rock, BC; son, Warren Carlson; brother Donald Farley and his late wife Jacqueline, Gatineau, QC; niece, Sylvia(Jerry) Johnson and their sons (Trevor and Curtis Johnson), Kamloops, BC; nephews, Allan(Anna) Farley, Ottawa; Richard (Eliana) Farley and son Leonel, San Diego California; Lorie's sister, Barbara(Gary) Baskerville, Bobcaygeon, ON.  There will be no service at this time. A graveside service will be held at a later date. Donations in Jack's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Charity of Choice.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., Middleton; toll free 1-855-825-3448.
