It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jonathan "Jon" Perry Wamboldt, age 40, of Aylesford Mountain.
Jon is survived by his son, Connor Wamboldt, 14, and Connor's mother, Ashley. He shared a deep love with Jen Riley, and held her boys, Mason (11) and Dallas (13) close to his heart, proudly treating them as his own. He is also survived by Pam Duncanson-Lutz of Victoria Harbour, who was a devoted mother figure to Jon for the past 16 years, providing constant support anyway she could, right to holding his hand in the very end. Jon is also survived by his big brother, Mark Wamboldt of Dartmouth whom he cared about very much and is predeceased by his father, Leroy Wamboldt.
Jon's life was marked by challenges, but he faced each one with determination and a strong will. Above all, he was the best father he could possibly be to Connor, giving everything he had, no matter what he was going through. He also adored his three dogs, spoiled them endlessly, and found comfort in their constant companionship.
A true outdoorsman, Jon was happiest spending time camping and fishing with his family. He had quite a green thumb and could grow sunflowers or his assortment of indoor plants like it was a competitive sport. He also loved time spent in the garage, where he was always fixing something, usually for one of the three boys and their endless dirt bike demands.
Jon grew up with a love of basketball, a passion he passed onto Connor. They spent countless hours shooting hoops in the driveway, laughing and competing to see who could beat the other. They also shared many dirt bike rides, chasing sunsets, and shore touring - moments that will forever be treasured.
In one of the last messages Jon ever sent, he wrote: "He makes me proud to be his father." We hope Connor always knows just how true that was.
Those who knew Jon will remember his sense of humour and witty comments, especially his constant stream of dad jokes.
In recent months, Jon faced significant struggles. We ask that he be remembered for the good times, the happy times, the moments when his love, humour, and heart shone through.
Rest easy Jonathan. You'll forever live in our hearts.
