CARIGNAN, Joseph Rolland Henrie ~ Age 75, of Bridgetown, Annapolis Co., formerly of Halifax Co., passed away on Monday, April 10, 2023, in Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born on October 20, 1947, in Windsor, Ontario, he was a son of the late Roland and Gabrielle (Fontaine) Carignan. Joseph had worked as a custodian and retired from Metropolitan Regional Housing Authority, Halifax, after many years of service. He was a faithful Toronto Maple Leafs fan and in his retirement years, enjoyed time spent playing his guitars, gardening, and playing cribbage with his family. Surviving are his sons, Douglas, Timothy and Lawrence (Jennifer McKinnon) Carignan; daughters, Tammy MacKean, Susan Carignan and Jennifer (Russell Mosher) Carignan; and their mother, the former Carol Slaunwhite; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Rosemary Charron; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Lawrence and Ted Carignan. Cremation has taken place and there will be a private family service at a later date.
