Obituary

Kellough, Joseph Alexander "Joe" ~ 76 of Kingston, NS formerly West Dalhousie, NS passed away Thursday, February 20, 2025, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born June 5, 1948, in Upper Clements to Robert and Mae Kellough. Joe spent 21 years of his military career in the regular forces. He drove convoy trucks through Egypt and Germany and completed many other overseas tasks. Joe drove the tractor between the Upper Clements Parks for many years before retiring and the parks closing. He was a Legion member for 51 years in the Bridgetown Branch, and he was an Annapolis Royal Lions member for many years. Joe was a member of the St. Peters Anglican Church in West Dalhousie. Even though Joe resided in Kingston, his heart was always in West Dalhousie. Joe had many interests. He was an avid woodsman and carpenter. He loved music and enjoyed going to the jam sessions at all the local halls. Joe loved fishing and hunting and once held the record in Digby for the largest Halibut caught on a handline. Joe is survived by his mother, Emma "Mae" Kellough, Annapolis Royal; sons, Craig (Katrina) Kellough, Middleton; Kyle (Danielle) Kellough, Bridgetown; grandsons, Jacob Kellough and Jaxon Kellough; granddaughters, Anna Kellough; Maeva Kellough; brother, Doug (Carolyn) Kellough, PEI; sister, Marilyn Kellough, Port Mouton; many nieces and nephews; and his special "Boo" from Hillsburn. Joe was predeceased by his loving wife, Dianna Kellough; common-law wife, Jacky Davis; and father, Robert Kellough. Joe was a very loving father and grandfather. He was very proud of his family, and friends who were considered as family. Special thanks to Barb Kennedy of Kennedy's Boarding Home for Seniors. Also, thank you to the wonderful staff at the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2025 in West Dalhousie Community Hall with Rev. Nita Barteaux officiating. A private family interment will be in St. Peters Anglican Cemetery, West Dalhousie. Donations in memory of Joe may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion, Bridgetown Branch #33.
