Patrick Chiasson
October 30, 1965 – March 23, 2018
With heavy hearts the family of Joe (Joseph Patrick) Chiasson of Berwick, Kings Co., N.S., announce his death on Friday, March 23, 2018. Joe was born October 30, 1965, in Ottawa, Ontario. As part of a military family, he lived in several provinces across Canada and in the USA, finally settling in the Annapolis Valley. Joe was a "Jack of all Trades" and applied his talents to many challenges. He was fortunate to turn his love and interest in computers into a career as the Senior IT System Administrator at Eassons Transport, Coldbrook, for 18 years. Joe made many friends through his hobbies and interests over the years, including cars, motorcycles, playing hockey and baseball. Joe also coached basketball at St. Mary's Elementary School and Pine Ridge Elementary School, and also soccer at Somerset. Joe was a quiet, gruff and passionate man, who loved deeply. He is survived by his two daughters, Rae and Lindsay, who gave him much pride, joy and love, their mother, Dawn Chiasson; close friend, Gina Graves and her son, Vaughn; Joe's parents, J. Raymond and Mary (McGough) Chiasson, Dartmouth; his sisters, Michele Chiasson-Suart (Glenn Suart), Calgary; Carole-Anne Chiasson (Aaron Smith) Toronto; and brothers, Kevin Chiasson (Michelle Vernooy), Vancouver; and Raymond and Jennifer (Chapman) Chiasson, Yellowknife; along with many wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and his in-laws, Bonnie and Bob Johnson. Joe was predeceased by his grandparents, Patrick and Nell McGough of Halifax, and Joseph and Lucy Chiasson of New Waterford, and several uncles and aunts. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 28th, 2018, at 2:00 p.m., in Morristown Baptist Church, 6557 Aylesford Rd., Morristown, with Rev. Chad Clements officiating. Following the service the family will proceed to the gravesite for a private committal service, and then go to the Morristown Community Hall, 10 Prospect Rd., Morristown, for a time of fellowship, refreshment and sharing. Donations in Joe's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia would be appreciated. "Hey man, thanks" is what Joe would have said, and our family thank him for the years we had with him. We only wish there had been more.
