VanBuskirk, Joseph Allan 78 of Kingston passed away Sunday, July 31, 2011 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in New Albany, Annapolis County he was a son of the late Frederick and Florence (Brown) VanBuskirk. Allan was employed with several service stations in the Middleton area, before starting work at CFB Greenwood. He retired in 1992 after 23 years driving heavy equipment. Allan loved working in his vegetable garden, woodworking, hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife the former Barbara Reid; daughters, Nancy (Robert) Ells, Wimborne, AB; Sheila Schaaf, Calgary, AB and Margo VanBuskirk, Cold Lake, AB; grandchildren, Munroe, Amanda and Ian as well as three great- grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, David; sisters, Pauline Spencer, Marjorie VanBuskirk; brothers, Stuart, Douglas and Ronald. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2:00PM Wednesday, August 3, 2011 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448. A reception for family & friends will follow the service. Interment will be in Church Grove Cemetery, Melvern Square. Donations in memory may be made to the Alzheimers Society of Nova Scotia.
