A la douce mémoire,

LaCroix, Joseph Albert Yvon de Kingston, Nouvelle-Écosse (antérieurement de Montréal), aux premières heures du matin, le lundi 12 février 2024, est décédé à l'âge de 82 ans à l'hôpital Valley Regional.

Né à Montreal, Québec, Yvon était le fils de feu Lionel et feu Lucille (Morin) LaCroix. Il adorait la musique des années 50 et 60, notamment Elvis Presley et Johny Cash.  Papa a toujours eu l'oreille musicale et pouvait jouer une toune sur sa guitare autant sur le piano et l'harmonica après l'avoir entendue qu'une seule fois.

Il était un grand fan des Canadiens de Montréal. De très loin pouvait-on l'entendre crier « Et, c'est le but! » pour chaque point marqué. Yvon était un adepte et grand partisan d'équipes d'hockey junior et prenait grand plaisir d'assister les parties et les pratiques avec les familles de son voisinage.

Papa était l'une de ces personnes attachantes, ceux qui l'ont connu l'aimaient instantanément.

Yvon laisse dans le deuil ses filles Susie (Scott Richardson) et Wendy (Paul McRae) ainsi que ses petits-enfants Lauren, Shayne, Amanda, Colin et Jonathan. Yvon était l'époux de feu Susan Johnson de Kingston, N.É.

Il est survécu par ses frères Gilles, Paul et ses sœurs Madeleine (Baron), Louise (Jacques Lemay) et Micheline.

Il sera manqué par plusieurs nièces et neveux.

Une mention spéciale et grande appréciation pour remercier la merveilleuse équipe au Mountain Lea Lodge qui s'est occupée de notre père avec dévouement dès son arrivé. Il était comblé avec leurs attentions et soins prodigués.

Au lieu de fleurs, il aurait souhaité des dons à vos équipes d'hockey junior de votre cartier.

Une célébration de sa vie sera tenue lors d'une réunion familiale privée à la venue du printemps.

LaCroix, Joseph Albert Yvon - age 82 of Kingston Nova Scotia (formerly of Montreal), passed away at Valley Regional Hospital in the early hours of February 12, 2024.

Born in Montreal, QC, Yvon was the son of the late Lionel and Lucille (Morin) LaCroix. He loved music from the 50's and 60's, especially Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash. Dad always had an ear for music and could strum a tune on his guitar or play it on his keyboard and harmonica after hearing a song one time.

He was a big Montreal Canadians fan and could be heard yelling "SCORE!" from a mile away when they got a goal! Yvon enjoyed supporting the local junior hockey team and took great pleasure in attending many of the games and practices with his neighbour's family.

Dad had an infectious personality which made those he met instantly love him.

Yvon leaves behind his daughters, Susie (Scott Richardson) and Wendy (Paul McRae) as well as his grandchildren, Lauren, Shayne, Amanda, Colin, and Jonathan. He is predeceased by his wife Susan Johnson, also of Kingston.

Yvon is survived by his siblings Gilles, Madeleine (Baron), Louise (Jacques Lemay), Paul and Micheline.

He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews.

Special thanks and appreciation to the wonderful staff at Mountain Lea Lodge who looked after our dad with such devotion from the moment he arrived. He thrived in their care.

In lieu of flowers, he would have loved for donations to be made to your local junior hockey teams.

A small private family gathering to celebrate his life will be held in the spring.
