Josephine "Josie"
Ann Comeau
August 7, 1946 – March 31, 2020
With deep sadness the family announces the unexpected passing of Josephine Ann Comeau. Josephine was born on August 7, 1946 in Middleton, Nova Scotia to Leo and Selena Comeau. She passed away suddenly while enjoying a run on Tuesday, March 31, 2020.
Josie is survived by her children, Beverly, Jerry (Denise), Cory (Joanne) and Carl. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Shawn, Leanne, Bryan (Megan), Bronwyn, Ezra, Jonah and Cambree; and great-grandson, Kurtis.
Josie will be missed by a large and loving family of siblings including June (Gordon) Dorey, Linda Taylor, Leo (Sandra), Bernadette (John) Ouellette, Lena (James) Warren, Albert (Mary Ellen), and Joeanne (Jerry) Dyck.
She was predeceased by her parents Leo and Selena Comeau and brother-inlaw, Garnet Taylor.
Josie grew up on the beautiful shores of the Bay of Fundy. Despite financial hardship in her childhood, she had wonderful memories of life on the Bay with her family. In her early 20's, Josie made her way to central Canada and spent over thirty years in Manitoba, most of those years in Altona. Here she raised her four children, worked at Friesen's Printing, opened an in-home quilt shop and made many friends. She also gave her life to Christ and was baptized upon confession of her faith in Him.
In 2001, Josie moved back to Nova Scotia to be close to her aging mother and to live in the place she felt had always been her true home. Although she missed her family in Manitoba, she loved her 19 years in Nova Scotia. She worked as a health care aide, made many new friends, took great care of her large yard, and discovered a passion for exercise and healthy eating. She loved gardening and quilting. She found joy in her family, travels with her friends, and gently caring for the residents at her work.
Due to Covid-19, memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., toll free 1-855-825-3448. Online guest book may be signed by visiting: www.middletonfuneralhome.com
