Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Josephine Marie "Josie" Taylor of Greenwood, Kings Co., N.S., announce her passing on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, in Evergreen Home for Special Care in Kentville. Born on September 14, 1942, in Port George, she was the daughter of the late Murray and Pearl (Brewster) Schnare. Josie worked through the years at Scotian Gold, Department of Lands and Forest plus at the Mess at Aldershot and Greenwood.

She was a kind, gentle and caring person who loved to sing in the choir and dance, but her greatest passion was working in her garden among the flowers.

Josephine was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Ivan; son, Tony (Laura); grandson, Matthew (Becky); step grandson, Keith; several nieces and nephews; plus several sisters-in-laws and brothers-in-law. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Murray; daughter, Donna; sister, Susan; and brothers, Everett, Lloyd, and Daniel.

A special thank you to the staff of Evergreen Home for Special Care for their kindness, caring and gentle attention they gave to Josie during her time there.
