LIGHTFOOT, Joyce Jardine – 88 of Bridgetown and formerly of Melvern Square passed away Sunday, July 7, 2019 in Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown. Born in Rehobeth, Mass., USA, she was a daughter of the late James and Eliza (Allen) Hatt. Joyce was a member of the Melvern Square United Baptist Church, the Sewing Circle and Social Committee. She loved to read, knit and do puzzles of any kind, but most of all enjoyed spending time in the kitchen of her home. Joyce was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by daughters Susan (Rick) Fancey, Colpton, Lunenburg Co. and Juanita Lightfoot, Falmouth, NS; sons Roy (Geraldine), Wilmot, NS and Karl Jr. (Bonny), Melvern Square; 18 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren; son-in-law PhilipWalker, sister's-in-law Marguerite Brown and Daisy Hatt; also special extended family, Joyce and Reginald Huntley and their family. Joyce was predeceased by her husband Karl Sr.; son Thomas; daughter Margaret; sisters Marjorie, Beatrice and Gertrude; brothers Allen, Gordon and Ernest; great granddaughter Angelica Walker. By request, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A memorial service, followed by a reception will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 12, 2019 in the Melvern Square United Baptist Church with Licentiate Elaine Bent officiating. A private family interment will take place in Church Grove Cemetery. By request, family flowers only. Donations in memory may be made to the Melvern Square United Baptist Church or to a charity of choice. Joyce's family would like to take this opportunity to extend their appreciation to the staff of Mountain Lea Lodge for the exceptional care they provided to their mother and also to good friend Marsha England for her many visits with "Mrs. Lightfoot".
