Judith "Judy" Mary Teed (Oct. 21, 1946 – April 5, 2022)
It is with sad hearts the family and friends mourn the passing of Judy Teed on April 5, 2022, at the age of 75 years. Judy courageously fought many cancers dating back to 1997; she was an emotionally strong woman. She loved her life at their condo in The Villages of Mountain Gap Resort at Smiths Cove, NS. Predeceased by her parents Reginald & Freelove Outhouse and brother, Sherman Outhouse of Tiverton, NS. Judy is survived by and lovingly remembered by her beloved husband, David of 20 years; remembered by her daughter, Lisa Haines (Mike), of Meadowvale, NS; and son, Darren Haines (Donna), of Greenwood, NS; grandchildren, Benjamin Haines (Kayla) of Halifax, NS; Travis and Brandon Fleet of Meadowvale, NS; and stepchildren, Michael Teed (Jennifer), and their children, Riley and Samuel Teed of Acworth, Ga.; Debbie Borth (Jeff), and their son, Hayden of Bluffton, SC; cousins, Lavena Titus; Michael Outhouse (Susan); Daniel Outhouse (Vicki), all of Tiverton, NS; Reg & Marie Outhouse of Kentville, NS; Lorraine (Doug) Holder of Queenstown, NB; Jimmy (Wendy) Butler of Saint John, NB; and Sharon & Janice Cushing of Osprey, FL. Judy cherished quality time with her family and friends. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren, and they always brought a big smile to her face with their many surprise visits. Volunteering was a large part of Judy's life and an activity she enjoyed very much. She was a dedicated and proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Carpiquet Br. No. 92 in Freeport, NS for 44 years; Membership Chairman for 25 years, organized the annual dart tournament for many years with the help of many other volunteers; tournament ran for 40 plus years and still continues today. Judy was one of the founding team volunteers who started the Chase the Ace at the Freeport Legion in 2015. Faithful volunteer at Passages for 15 years and always, along with other volunteers, enjoyed decorating for special occasions at the Legion. Judy was awarded a Life Membership at the Legion on Nov. 11, 2017, in recognition of all her volunteer work in the Legion and community. Judy's interests included playing darts, dancing, puzzles, computer games, walking on the beach at Smiths Cove, camping, music jams, listening to classic country music, crocheting and knitting with friends Gloria Howard and Sherly McMullen. Family flowers only and no visitation by request ; donations can be made in Judy's memory to The Lodge That Gives in Halifax or the Digby Branch of the Victorian Order of Nurses. Thank you to all the doctors and nurses at the Dickson Building (QEII) in Halifax and to all the doctors and nurses at Digby General Hospital who were involved with Judy's care, EHS, the VON staff at Digby who came to our home and to the Palliative Care Team at Digby and the Digby Clare Home Support Agency; your services were much appreciated and allowed Judy to stay at home as long as possible. Also many thanks to our neighbors at Mountain Gap Resort for their words of support and donations of food during those difficult times. Cremation has taken place. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 14, in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, toll free 1-855-825-3448, with internment at 4:00 p.m. in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Tiverton, NS.
