Obituary

FOSTER, Judson Harris ~ Age 103, of Paradise, Annapolis Co., passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2022, in Annapolis Community Health Centre, Annapolis Royal.  Born on February 9, 1919, in Bridgetown, he was a son of the late Ernest M. and Irene T. (Shaw) Foster.

Judson worked as an electrician, mechanic and truck driver. Jud operated Foster & Sons Irving and founded the Maple Grove Restaurant, Paradise. He built his own home and at age 61 and achieved his motorcycle license. Judson was a member of Paradise United Baptist Church and Campers Club. He loved camping, woodworking, tinkering and John Deere tractors. He took great pride in mowing his lawn in the summer and plowing his (and other) driveways in the winter. Jud enjoyed time spent visiting with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and later in life spent many hours at jigsaw puzzles and playing solitaire.

He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving are son, Allan (Iris); daughter-in-law, Jeanette (Ed) McInnis, both of Middleton; stepsons, Patrick (Myrna) Steeves, Lakeview; Phillip (Angela) Steeves, Sackville; Daniel (Lorraine) Steeves, Alberta; grandchildren, Glenn (Penny), Digby; Richard (Suzy), Upper Clements; Anne (Danny) Lundrigan, North Kingston; Stephen (Dawn Leonard), West Paradise; six step grandchildren; six great grandchildren; nine step great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Judson was predeceased by his first wife, the former Evelena Baker; second wife, the former Vivian Steeves; sons, Ralph and Wayne; stepsons, Allan and Timothy Steeves; brother, Sydney; sisters, Ella and June.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, September 29, 2022, in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., toll free: 1-855-825-3448 from where a funeral service followed by a reception will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 30, 2022. Rev. Quincy Collins officiating. Interment will follow in Paradise Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to Paradise Community Hall or the Victorian Order of Nurses ~ Annapolis Valley Branch.
