Judy Dianne
Sherman
December 13, 1941 – January 4, 2023
Judy Dianne Sherman ~ 81, of Berwick, NS, born in New Glasgow on December 13, 1941, as Judy Dianne Martin, passed away peacefully at the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday January 4, 2023. Judy grew up surrounded by her large loving family in Stellarton, NS. Judy enjoyed spending her time watching her family grow, and keeping them all fed. She always had her hair and nails done, and never left the house without her lipstick on. Judy loved going to the city to shop at the Sears Bargain Basement and have supper at the Ponderosa.
Many will remember Judy from running the Villa Lunch in South Berwick, which she owned and operated from 1970 until 1982. Judy continued to make her famous pies and biscuits for her family and for the hunting season every year. Throughout her life Judy worked at the Grand View Manor in Berwick. One of Judy's greatest passions was taking care of others which was evident both in her work at the Manor and in her care of everyone who came into her life.
Judy was the original 'Hockey Mom'. She would make a big spaghetti supper for the players before every Friday night high school hockey game. At the game after supper, she had no problem letting the referee know how to do their job properly.
Judy is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Levi Edward Sherman; as well as her daughter, Carolyn Dawn Al-Masri (Munther) of New Minas; NS and her son, Edward "Eddie" Sherman (Jadine) of Windsor, NS; her grandchildren, Desiree Sherman, Patrick Whalen, Anthony Doherty, Michael Sherman, Lorie-Dawn Doherty, Rheanne Sherman, and Levi Sherman Jr.; and by 11 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her mother, Velma Martin (Megeney) and father, Cecil Martin, her daughter, Laurie Lynn Sherman; and son, Allan Anthony Sherman.
There will be a celebration of Judy's life at her home 325 Parker Condon Road, Berwick on Sunday, January 8, 2023, from 2-4 with a private family gathering to follow.
