Obituary

GREENE, Julia Carolyn ~ Halifax, NS. It is with deep sorrow, and much love, we mourn the passing of Julia Carolyn Greene, Halifax, who passed away on Tuesday, November 28th, 2023, daughter of Edith (Bishop) Greene, Halifax and the late Frederick Greene.

Julia will be lovingly remembered by her 'Mommy', Edie Greene, Halifax; her brother, Graham Greene (M.J.), Wellington; and sisters, Darlene Greene, Bedford; Viki Gaul (Gary), Brickton; and Janice Bickle (Tom) Cobourg, Ontario; special nephew, Logan Greene, Toronto; many other nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews.

Julia was predeceased by her father, Frederick Greene; her sister, Elaine Greene; and sister-in-law, Jill Greene.

Julia was a huge fan of 'bigger than life' characters. Superheroes of all types and descriptions, icons from horror films, singers, wrestlers, and the Royal family. She loved classic sit-coms and had a wonderful sense of humour. She enjoyed watching wrestling, and had a collection of wrestling t-shirts, which she wore with great pride and confidence. Julia spoke often about the time Graham accompanied her to the Halifax Forum to see her heroes in action. Her biggest love was for the Blue Jays. She knew the game, the players, and the current rankings. She enjoyed friendly banter about everything 'baseball'. Her favourite player was Vladimir Guerrero Jr. She had a wonderful collection of Blue Jay trinkets, t-shirts, and memorabilia. Nothing pleased her more than attending home games in Toronto with her mom, and her aunts Carolyn and Isabel. Over the years, Julia's hobbies included flower arranging, scrapbooking, and crafting.

Julia loved her family and was dearly loved by all who knew her. The gap she leaves in our hearts is wide but will eventually fill with the memories we made with her, the smiles we remember, and the time spent in her company.

The family would like to thank the amazing team of doctors and nurses, of the VG and QEII, for the compassionate care during Julia's six-week hospitalization.
