Weir, Julia Anne - Age 81 passed peacefully away at her home in Halifax on March 5 th , 2005. She was the daughter of the late Eli and Lavina (Reid) Hillier. Her loving husband Roddy Weir predeceased her. Julia was a wonderful homemaker, devoted wife and mother who loved children! Together with her husband they raised a large well-blended family of many children. A devout Christian, she was a member of The Salvation Army Fairview Citadel Corps. She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Carrol Lillian (Naster) Tracz of Lower Sackville; Hazel V. Marie Dodge of Alberta; Jessie Ethelyn (Yvon) Cloutier of Wilmot; Cheryl Anne Weir of Halifax; and her sons Melvin (Florence) of Windsor, Newfoundland; John (Trudy) of Tignish; grandson Roddy (Kim MacLeod) Weir of Wilmot; foster sons Scott Gaul of Middleton and Andrew (Brenda) Robar, of Ontario: and several other foster children, her 22 other grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson; also her sister Daisy Drover of Kitchener, Ontario; several nieces and nephews, numerous friends in the Annapolis Valley and Halifax area. Julie was predeceased by 3 of her grandchildren, by sisters Mary Belle, Sarah, Ruby and Louise and brothers John, William, James, Stanley and her twin brother Roy. Visitation will take place at Warren T. Roop Funeral Home in Middleton on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted from their Chapel on Tuesday, March 8 th at 2:00 p.m. with Majors Bob and Aggie MacDonald of The Salvation Army officiating. Internment will follow in Church Grove Cemetery, Melvern Square. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Kidney Foundation, the Diabetics Association, the Canadian Cancer Society or The Salvation Army Fairview Citadel Corps (Church) in Halifax.
