ATKINS, Karen Elizabeth – Age 69, of Kingston, Kings Co., N.S., passed away peacefully on Monday, September 15, 2025, at home, surrounded by family members and friends. Born on August 4, 1956, in Montreal, Quebec, she was a daughter of the late Eric S. and Ardythe P. (Collins) Temple. Karen had been fashion manager at Kmart in Greenwood and was well known for her time as co-owner at Karen's Fashion. She was an avid antique collector. Surviving are her husband of 44 years, C. George Atkins; brother, Jeff Temple (Keisha), South Carolina; sons, Derek Atkins (Deanna), Kingston; Steven Atkins, Auburn; stepdaughters, Kimberly Atkins (Jeff), Melvern Square; Sonja Atkins (Paul), Woodbridge, Ontario; five grandsons, Hunter, Michael, Matthew, Dawson and Cameron; step grandchildren, Krystal, Kelsey and Brandon; brother-in-law, Ivan Atkins (Debbie), Cambridge; several nieces and nephews. A private interment will take place in Aylesford Union Cemetery.
