MUISE, Katherine Jean "Kathy" - age 52 of Middleton, NS passed away suddenly on Friday, June 12, 2015 at home. Born in Middleton, she was a daughter of the late James and Mae (Davis) Muise. Kathy loved talking with her friends on Facebook, enjoyed crafts and making people laugh. She loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her common law husband of 40 years, Winston Barkhouse, Middleton; her daughters, Sherry (Shane) Thompson, Lawrencetown; Tonya Barkhouse (Troy Solomon), Middleton; her sister, Rachel Kirton (Kyle Kent), Hamilton, ON; half-sister, Erna Nickerson, Shelburne; her brothers, Allister Muise (Lisa), Moncton, NB; Donald (Beatrice) Muise, Mount Hanley; Paul Muise, Lawrencetown; David Muise, Lethbridge, AB; her grandchildren Mary, Julie and Skyller and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter Jessica in infancy; sisters, Shirley Moore and Suzanne and Janice, both in infancy and her brother Joseph. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2:00PM Thursday, June 18, 2015 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448 with Rev. Leon Langille officiating. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Port George. Donations in Kathy's memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
