LIGHTFOOT, Kathleen "Kay" Anita - age 90 of Wilmot, NS passed away peacefully in Grand View Manor Berwick on August 21, 2015. Born on March 15, 1925 in Mosher's Corner, she was the daughter of the late Leslie and Margaret (Bent) Lewis. Kay had a great love for her Lord and her family. Her heart was full of compassion for everyone she knew, always putting the needs of others ahead of her own. Kay had a fondness for gospel music and always looked forward to Sunday church services, both in her community and at the nursing home. In earlier years Kay loved to shop at Frenchy's, taking time to chat and visit with people, and always finding a bargain for someone. Kay also loved animals and took great pleasure in being around the various dogs and cats her children and grandchildren brought around. Kay is survived by her husband of 60 years, Donald Lightfoot. Her three children; son Kevin (Marilyn) Lightfoot, Wilmot; daughters Wendy Lightfoot, Wilmot and Ann (Peter) MacLean, Elbow, SK are eternally grateful to have been chosen' and raised by Don and Kay. Kay's love extended to the next generation with her grandchildren bringing her many smiles in her later years. Granddaughters Holly Lightfoot, Sackville NB; Mikaela Lightfoot, Pinehouse Lake, SK; grandsons Sam MacLean, Moncton NB; Nikolas MacLean, Elbow, SK and Nathan MacLean, Margaretsville, NS have had their lives wonderfully enriched by Grandma'. Kay is also survived by sisters Mildred (Mrs. Doug Payson), Evergreen Nursing Home, Coldbrook; Charlotte (Mrs. Bernard Aalders), Dartmouth; Marjorie (Mrs. Joe Carey), Margaretsville; brother, Reginald (Pat) Lewis, Spryfield as well as several cherished nieces and nephews. Kay was predeceased by sister, Madeline (Mrs. Bernie Lutz) and brothers Leslie Lewis and Ronald Lewis. Visitation will be held 7:00-9:00pm Monday, August 24, 2015 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902)825-3448 where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday Aug. 25, 2015 at 2:00pm with Rev. Warren Jones officiating. Reception to follow the service. Interment will be in Church Grove Cemetery, Melvern Square.
