BISHOP (Mailman), Kathleen (Kaye) LaVaughn - 87, passed away June 7, 2013 at Parkland at the Lakes, Dartmouth (formerly of Middleton). Born in New Albany, Nova Scotia May 15, 1926, she was the only daughter of the late George Harris (Harry) Mailman of New Albany and the late Lilla Mae (Naugler) Mailman of Inglisville. Kathleen was a graduate of Mack Business College and was employed with Maritime Tel & Tel for many years as well as the Mirror Examiner newspaper in Middleton. Kathleen was predeceased by her husband Harry Thomas Bishop, Jr. as well as her two brothers, Frank Mailman (Doris) Middleton and Walter Mailman (Louise), Kentville. Kaye was an active volunteer in her community and also enjoyed many camping trips with family. Kaye is survived by her two children, Paul Bishop (Catherine) of Dartmouth and Terri Josey (Ron) of Mount Uniacke and was "Grammy" to five grandchildren, Troy Bishop, Toronto, Kameco Sheehy (Marty), Red Deer, Alberta, Tyler Zinck (Odessa), Mineville, Kelsey Zinck, Mount Uniacke and Kristin Zinck (Jake) of Andrew, Alberta as well as many nieces and nephews. In respect of her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or funeral service with a private family burial only. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of Parkland at the Lakes, Dartmouth for the exemplary care and compassion they gave to Kathleen and family as well as her caregivers from Always Homecare.
