WEESE, Kathleen DeLaHaye "Kaye" - 81 of Middleton passed away Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Arborstone Enhanced Care, Halifax. Born in Bridgewater she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Kathleen "Kay" (Harlow) Kempton. Kaye completed her schooling in Yarmouth and then moved to Toronto were she studied dance and was a model for Sun Valley Clothing. Upon her father's death, she returned to Yarmouth and opened her own dance studio. While in Yarmouth, she met and married the love of her life, Garry in 1959. After her marriage they moved to PEI where she owned and operated V&S Children's Wear in Summerside. In 1965 Kaye and Garry moved to Greenwood and in 1977 they purchased their home in Middleton where she volunteered for numerous organizations as well as being an active member of the Middleton Baptist Church. She also helped to launch the Valley Care Help Line and was Co-coordinator for it for five years as well as being a worker and spokesperson. Her biggest contribution to her community was her love and compassion for everyone she met. She accepted everyone with open arms and a warm smile. She is survived by daughter Shelly (Kim) Hutchinson and their children Jace, Jordyn and Darienne, Kingston, ON and son Sean (Natasha), and their children Justin and Matthew, Alliston, ON; brothers, Kendall (Verda), Halifax; Brian, Halifax; and sister-in-law Shirley,Yarmouth. She was predeceased by her husband Garry; brother, Jordan and sister-in-law Sally. By request, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Middleton Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Smith and Rev. Donald Robertson officiating. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Middleton.
