PRALL, Kathleen Genette "Kay" - age 79, Melvern Square, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2015 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Middleton, she was a daughter of the late Royal and Bertha (Whynot) Balcom. Kay loved cooking dinners for her family and enjoyed working in her flower gardens. Her favourite past time was sitting with Henry on the deck or in the gazebo but her real passion was her family, friends and foster children. She is survived by her ten kids, Bobby (LaVaughn), Danny (Debbie), Stephen (Violet), Phillip (Bonnie), Heather (Keith), Randy (Brendalee), Glenn (Shelly), Liza (Eric), Timmy (Elizabeth), Wendy (Jeremy), sister Judy Hoffman-Balcom; brothers Lewis (Bev) Balcom, Jimmy (Betty) Balcom, Donnie (Karen) Balcom, Roy (Susan) Balcom along with numerous nieces and nephews. Kay has 32 Grandchildren and 25 Great Grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband Robert "Henry", her infant son Jamie Arthur, her brothers Russell, Chester "Chet", half-sister Pauline and Grandchildren Tracy, Sherry Lee and Jamie. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. In keeping with Kay's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2:00PM Thursday, April 16, 2015 in the Fellowship Baptist Church, Melvern Square with Rev. Bruce Kaiser officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the service. Private family interment will be in Church Grove Cemetery, Melvern Square. Donations in memory may be made to the VON Annapolis Valley Branch, IWK Health Centre Foundation or charity of choice.
