OSINGA, Kathleen Patricia "Kathy" - Age 46 of Lawrencetown, NS passed away peacefully Thursday, May 29, 2014 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Middleton, she was a daughter of the late Bryan and Sharon (Banks) Shaw. Kathy graduated from Lawrencetown Consolidated School and later graduated from Acadia University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. For many years she was a sales representative for Proctor & Gamble and enjoyed cooking and writing. In earlier years, Kathy was a former Sunday School Teacher and Sunday School Superintendent at the Clarence United Baptist Church, past leader with the Clarence 4H Club and was involved with Canada World Youth and currently was a member of the Lawrencetown United Baptist Church. She was very kind hearted and her door was always open and the coffee always on. She is survived by her loving children, Megan Osinga (Jeff MacLeod), Saint John, NB and Ben Osinga, Lawrencetown and their father Jurre Osinga, San Salvador; special son, Trevor Hawkesworth, Clarence; her sister, Bev (Adam) Sabean, Mount Rose; her brothers, Dale Shaw and Jon Shaw, both of Mayerthorpe, AB and Craig O'Neil (Betty), Weymouth; special friend, Danny Phinney, Clarence and numerous nieces and nephews. In keeping with Kathy's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life service will be held 2:00PM Tuesday, June 3, 2014 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448 with Rev. Patty Beals officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the service. Private family interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Lawrencetown.
