Kathleen Louise
Peppard
September 14, 1931 – July 29, 2020
PEPPARD (Cox) , Kathleen Louise "Kaye" ~ It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Kathleen Louise "Kaye" Peppard, daughter of the late Roy and Vera (Carson) Cox on July 29, 2020 in Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton. She was born in Brooklyn, Annapolis County, Nova Scotia, on Sept 14, 1931. Kaye was predeceased by brothers, Rawleigh, Moody, Leland and Frank; and sisters, Naomi, Adelia, Anne and Marion and was the last member of the immediate family; survived by brother-in-law, John Briere, along with many nieces and nephews. Kaye will be greatly missed by her husband of 66 years, Albert; children, Terry (Sue), Jo-Anne (Charles) MacNeil, Judy (Chris) Baker, and Jamie (Nicole); grandchildren, Alex, Sydney, Adam, Michael, Kate, Kayla and Molly; and great grandchildren, Marcie, Jack, Noah, Leonie and Brooklyn. In her 88 years she packed in enough family adventures, sports, community service, and love for five lifetimes! Kaye excelled at every endeavor she ever tried and used this confidence to support others and most importantly, her Family. Her husband, sisters, brothers, parents, and children were stronger in her presence, such was her powerful personality! Raised in Brooklyn Annapolis County, Kaye was an outstanding athlete at Middleton Regional High School and went on to careers in banking and real estate. Considered a pioneer in swimming and skiing, she travelled the Province encouraging and testing lifeguards for the Royal Canadian Lifesaving Society from 1963-1980. Kaye promoted skiing for all by organizing a 'Learn to Ski' program that taught thousands of students to ski in its 30 years of operation. Kaye was captain of the 1958 Middleton Ladies Basketball team, provincial champions, now members of the Middleton Sports Heritage Wall of Fame. She was an avid bowler, golfer, skater and curler; her passion for athletics and the great outdoors was only surpassed by her love of all things Family. Supporting her husband, children, and grandchildren meant travelling to rinks, Highland Games, soccer fields, track meets, graduations, weddings, and reunions which she did with a smile on her face and love in her heart! Due to COVID restrictions there will be no visitation. A private family graveside service will be held in Pine Grove cemetery. The family would like to thank the VON Annapolis Valley Branch, Senior Homecare by Angels and the doctors and nurses at Soldiers' Memorial Hospital for their excellent care and compassion. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, toll free 1-855-825-3448.
