Obituary

STOKES, Keith George - Age 82, of Morristown, Kings Co., passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville.  Born on November 22, 1938, in Toronto, Ont., he was a son of the late Wilfred L. and Marjorie M. (Mason) Stokes. Keith served in the Royal Canadian Air Force as a chef and had flown on the Argus and Lancaster aircraft, and while in Ontario had been a member of the Royal Canadian Legion.  He later worked as a truck driver at Home Hardware in Berwick.  As Keith and Laura loved children, the family home was the center of attraction and was always full of neighbourhood children.  He loved to read and enjoyed time spent outside in his flower garden.   Keith always looked forward to Christmas morning and family gatherings. He enjoyed sports and was an avid fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and Maple Leafs.  Keith will be sadly missed by his beloved dog, Teka. Surviving are children, Connie (Terry) Munroe, Wolfville; Keith (Angela)Stokes Jr., Phyllis Lutz, Robert, Kenny (Christina) all of Morristown, Sheila (Peter) Seamone, Truro.   Stepchildren, Carolyn Lutz, Anne (Clark)Smith, Colleen Zacharski, all of Ontario; Rodney Collins, Aylesford, Joanne (Larry) Vasseur, Florida. Grandchildren, Angie, Jamie, Loretta, Ashley, Emily, Sara, Katie, Kyle, Jessica, Samantha, Kelsey and Nathan; special mention for Step grandchildren Danny, Medford and Timmy Lutz who were more like Keith's own children as they spent most of their time at the home of Keith and Laura.  Numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  Brother Brian; sister, Dorothy, both of Fredericton, N.B.; sisters Nora and Joyce, both of Ontario; Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife the former Laura G. Zwicker; stepson, James Collins; sister, Donna (Nick). There will be no visitation at the funeral home. A memorial service will take place at 3 p.m., Monday, September 20, in Morristown Baptist Church, 6557 Aylesford Rd., Morristown. Rev. Chad Clements officiating, with family only interment in Morristown Cemetery. Due to pandemic gathering restrictions, there will be very limited seating in the church.
