Kenneth James
Denholm
June 3, 1941 – March 26, 2025
Denholm, Kenneth James – Age 83 of Greenwood, Kings Co., after a lengthy struggle with dementia, went to be with his Lord and Saviour on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, in Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown, Annapolis Co.,
Ken was born in Brantford, ON, where he met his loving wife of 47 years, Linda (Peelar) Denholm. He was the father of Adam (Lisa) Denholm of Brantford, ON, Robin (Graham) Cunningham of Aylesford, NS, and Ryan (Liz) Denholm of New Glasgow, NS. He was Grampy to Elissa, Isaac, Benjamin, and Maddison Cunningham; Westley and Lucy Denholm. Ken was also survived by brothers Norman (Marion) Denholm of Regina, SK, Tom (Betty) Denholm of Paris, ON, and sister Jean (Mark) Sager of Brantford, ON, and sisters-in-law, Colleen Denholm and Rita Denholm.
Ken was predeceased by his parents, Kenneth and Vera (Cook) Denholm and his brothers, Bill and Tim Denholm.
Ken loved nothing more than his faith, family and friends. At his passing, he was a member of Aylesford Baptist Church. Previous to moving to Nova Scotia, he was a long-time member of Central Baptist Church in Brantford, ON. Ken was a man of many passions and talents. He was an accomplished drummer, and his love for music was an integral part of his life. He was also a gifted storyteller, known for embellishing tales with wit and humor to captivate those around him. A true entertainer at heart, Ken could bring any story to life with his vibrant personality. Ken had a deep passion for books and reading, which led him to own and operate bookstores in both Brantford, ON, and Digby, NS. His love of literature was matched only by his fondness of all types of boats. The ocean, all water views, and habour scenes brought him peace. After one trip to Nova Scotia, he knew he wanted to live there. As a shuttle and limo driver, Ken made a lasting impression on everyone he met. By the end of each trip, he had made a friend out of every passenger. His warmth, humour, and genuine interest in others made him a favourite among those who had the pleasure of traveling with him.
A time of fellowship & remembrance will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, March 30, 2025, at Aylesford Baptist Church.
A celebration of Ken's Life will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Central Baptist Church, Fairview Dr., Brantford, ON.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all the staff of Trinity Trail at Mountain Lea Lodge for their exceptional care and compassion during his time there. A special thanks to Ruthie, who comforted and encouraged Ken and his family on their journey from his first days at Mountain Lea until his passing.
