It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kenneth McGregor Lees, affectionately known as Kenny, who passed away peacefully at home in Kingston, Nova Scotia, on November 7, 2026, at the age of 64. Formerly a longtime resident of Windsor, Ontario, Kenny was born in Leicester, England, and was the beloved son of the late Archibald and Marion (Miller) Lees.
Kenny will be lovingly remembered by his partner, Lauren Fraser; his daughters, Shayna (Stevie) Wilson, Sadie Lees (Scott Pellizzari), and Sophie Lees (Tyler Assef); and his six grandchildren, Ryleigh, Grace, Jack, Warren, Bowie, and Kenneth, as well as his much-anticipated grandbaby, Baby P, who is on the way. Kenny was also survived by his sister, Carol Hill, and sister-in-law, Joyce Lees. He was predeceased by his brother, Colin Lees, and brother-in-law, Kevin Hill.
Kenny was a man with a great sense of humour, a quick wit, and a sarcastic side that those who knew him came to love. Stubborn at times, but always entertaining, he had a way of making people laugh and was truly a pleasure to be around. Whether sharing stories, making jokes, or simply enjoying the company of those closest to him, Kenny knew how to make ordinary moments memorable. Those who knew him will undoubtedly remember his familiar saying, “Do you want to fly or do you want to flop around?” — a phrase that captured his humour and personality perfectly.
Above all, Kenny cherished his family. Being a dad and, especially, being Papa to his grandchildren brought him great joy. He treasured the time spent with his daughters and grandchildren, creating memories through laughter, stories, and the simple moments of being together. He took great pride in his family and will be remembered for the special bond he shared with each of them. His grandchildren will forever remember him as their Papa, and the love and memories they shared will remain with them always. With another grandbaby on the way, his family takes comfort in knowing that his love and legacy will continue through the generations.
An avid Leicester City football fan, Kenny loved nothing more than gathering with family and friends to watch the game and cheer on his beloved team. He also enjoyed classic rock music, golf, fishing, and travelling, making memories and embracing the experiences along the way. He especially valued the friendships he shared with Pete, Garry, Paul, Brian, Yvonne, Jason, and many others, whose companionship, laughter, and support brought so much joy to his life. These friendships were a very important part of Kenny’s life, and the memories made together will be fondly remembered.
In April, Kenny retired after nearly 31 dedicated years as a pipe fitter with Valiant Machine & Tool Inc. He was incredibly proud of his work and the career he had built over the years. Throughout his time at Valiant, Kenny became a valued and respected member of the team, recognized for his knowledge, experience, and willingness to support and help those around him. His dedication and contributions will be remembered by the many colleagues and friends he made along the way.
Kenny leaves behind a loving family, many dear friends, and countless memories that will be cherished for years to come. Though his absence leaves an immeasurable void in the lives of those who loved him, his laughter, quick wit, stubborn spirit, and unmistakable sense of humour will never be forgotten. The stories he shared, the lives he touched, and the love he gave will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
In keeping with Ken’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service at this time. A celebration of his life is to come.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ken’s memory may be made to the Carey-Me Fund, supporting Palliative Care through Valley Regional Hospital.
