Obituary

SMITH, Kenneth "Scott" ~ Age 57, of Lake Paul, Kings Co. It is with broken hearts that the family announces that Scott passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family. Born on September 23, 1964, in Pugwash, Cumberland Co., he was a son of the late William "Bill" A. and Sara "Sally" L. (LeBlanc) Smith. Scott grew up and lived in Pugwash the majority of his life and was a graduate of Pugwash District High School and later attended NSCC to obtain his Second-Class Power Engineering certificate. He worked in his field in places such as the Pugwash Salt Mine, Nova Scotia Power and was presently employed at Michelin Canada in Waterville. He loved nothing more than being with his family, including his house full of pets, as well as being outside in his yard. Scott was well known as a hands-on dad and could always be counted on to help his family with anything and everything. He enjoyed reading, owning, and re-reading countless Stephen King novels, as well as working on and conquering The New York Times Crossword puzzles. Scott loved golfing and time spent on his motorcycle with his wife, Coleen. He most enjoyed a quiet night spent-in with his family enjoying a nice home cooked meal and watching their favourite shows. Surviving and remembered by his loving partner and companion of 36 years, Coleen A. Cooley; children, Dylan, Mitchell and Nicole Smith, all of Lake Paul; brother, Barry Smith of Pugwash; nephew, Tanner Smith of Pugwash; mother and father-in law, Alice and Joe Oakley; sisters-in-law, Darlene and Michele; brother-in-law, Jim; as well as many other loving uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by his fur babies, Macy, Hades, Eddie and Reggie. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sister, Debbie Smith. There will be no visitation or service. A small family gathering will be arranged and take place at a later date. The family would like to extend their thanks to the Lake Paul Fire Department and emergency response teams that responded. Donations in his memory may be made to any local animal rescue charity. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, toll free 1-855-825-3448.
